Infineon Introduced Highly Integrated iMOTION™ IMI110 Series of Modules for Low-power Devices

        Infineon Technologies AG has announced the launch of the new iMOTION™ IMI110 series of intelligent power modules (IPMs), which integrate the iMOTION motion control engine (MCE), three-phase gate driver and 600 V/2 A or 600 V/4 A IGBT in a compact DSO-22 package. This integrated motor controller family is suitable for a wide range of applications, including motors in large and small household appliances, as well as fans and pumps with an output power of typically 70 W. Depending on the system design, even higher outputs are possible. Depending on the system design, the family can achieve even higher outputs.
        The MCE is proven to enable efficient field-oriented control (FOC) in sensorless motor controllers and comes with motor control and integration scripts that are ready for use without any user code. Designers can easily configure and debug the MCE with the software tool Solution Designer, making it simpler to develop highly integrated, functionally optimized motor control solutions that dramatically speed time to market. In addition, they can quickly prototype customer-specific iMOTION IPM-based products with two new control boards for the iMOTION Modular Application Design Kit (MADK).
        The IMI110 series offers improved electrical clearance and creepage distances. These devices offer features such as excellent durability and reliability, and are HV-H3TRB test certified. The IMI110 series is pre-certified to UL/IEC 60730 (Class B) standards to meet application requirements for functional safety. In addition, they feature comprehensive protection measures in hardware and software.
