Qualcomm Announces Second Generation Snapdragon XR2+ Platform, Samsung and Google to Debut

        Qualcomm officially announced a new processor platform for XR devices Snapdragon XR2+ Gen2, Samsung and Google's new XR devices will debut equipped. Specifically, the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen2's CPU frequency has been increased by 20% compared to its predecessor, and the GPU frequency has been increased by 15% compared to its predecessor, which can support up to a 4.3K x 4.3K ultra-high resolution monocular display and a high frame rate of 90FPS.
 
 
        It can also support more than 12 cameras concurrently, which will help the XR device track the outside world as well as the user's hands and other parts of the body. In addition to this, the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 will also offer 12ms full-color video fluoroscopy, as well as Wi-Fi 7 support, the same specs as the previous XR2 Gen 2.
        Qualcomm also mentioned that it is currently working with Google and Samsung on new Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2-based products. "Samsung is excited to work with Qualcomm Technologies and Google to revolutionize the mobile industry once again." Inkang Song, Vice President and Head of Technology Strategy Team at Samsung Electronics expressed his excitement, "With Samsung's mobile expertise and our shared commitment, we aim to create a best-in-class XR experience for Galaxy users."
        "We look forward to continuing to work with Qualcomm Technologies and Samsung on the future of XR in immersive spaces," said Shahram Izadi, vice president of AR at Google. "We are excited for the Android ecosystem to utilize the capabilities of the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 and enable new experiences." On top of that, Qualcomm talked about five other OEMs currently working on devices that will benefit from Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2. These include Samsung and Google Headsets, as well as HTC Vice, Immersive and Fight for Your Dreams. That means we're going to see a lot of impressive devices in the future.
