Diodes Introduces Dual-Channel High-Side Switch Offers Durable Protection for Automotive Applications

        On January 30, Diodes Corporation, a semiconductor company providing products for the automotive, industrial, computing, consumer electronics and communications markets, announced the introduction of its first automotive-compliant, dual-channel, high-side power switches - the ZXMS82090S14PQ, the ZXMS82120S14PQ and the ZXMS82180S14PQ, further expanding its IntelliFET® self-protecting MOSFET portfolio. These intelligent switches deliver high power in a compact size while providing rugged protection and diagnostic features. This series is designed to drive 12V automotive device loads such as LEDs, light bulbs, actuators and motors in automotive body control and lighting systems.
 
 
        The three switches feature an N-channel dual MOSFET array rated at 41V, with on-board circuitry that provides short-circuit protection, handles inrush currents, and prevents overvoltage conditions such as sudden load drops. In addition, the switches offer thermal protection with an auto-restart function, as well as protection against electrostatic damage. In combination with external components, these switches also provide ground-failure and reverse polarity protection. 
        Dedicated current sense pins accurately monitor the analog current output and provide fault indication for battery short, ground short, and open load detection. These IntelliFETs provide an efficient, reliable, smaller size alternative to relays, fuses, and discrete circuits, while maintaining the same form, fit, and function as existing power switching devices, providing customers with better product options. 
        The ZXMS82090S14PQ, ZXMS82120S14PQ, and ZXMS82180S14PQ meet AEC-Q100 rating specifications, are manufactured in IATF 16949 certified facilities, and support PPAP documentation. The products are available in a high thermal efficiency SO-14EP package.
