In recent news, Fujifilm has announced plans to build a plant in South Korea to produce advanced materials for semiconductor manufacturing. The new plant will have cutting-edge manufacturing capabilities and state-of-the-art evaluation equipment to enable the production of high-quality and high-performance products.

According to the report, the plant, located in Pyeongtaek, Korea, will be built by Fujifilm Electronic Materials Korea Co.
The plant will produce sensor filters for image sensors and will be the company's second manufacturing facility in Korea. We understand that Fuji's first Korean plant, located in Cheonan, is focused on the production of chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) pastes.
Although Fuji did not specify whether this new plant will directly affect the image sensors used in its X series and GFX series camera systems. But according to internal data it will produce 80 percent of the world's color filter material used in image sensors.
Fujifilm said the plant, along with its two other color filter plants in Japan and Taiwan, will use its "advanced functional molecular technology and nanotechnology" to "stably produce and distribute high-quality color filter materials for image sensors.
