NVIDIA (NVDA.US) preempted the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week with an unofficial virtual keynote announcing the latest developments in its gaming, robotics and automotive businesses.

NVIDIA focused specifically on the use of artificial intelligence software in its product line. Its senior vice president Jeff Fisher began his presentation by saying, "Artificial intelligence will define the future of computing."
This year's CES show will focus on news about the automotive sector, including electric and self-driving cars, and NVIDIA's presentation was no exception. Ali Kani, the company's vice president for automotive, noted that NVIDIA has a partnership with foundry giant Foxconn to build electric vehicles based on NVIDIA's Drive Hyperion self-driving platform.
Kani also announced agreements with automakers such as Hyundai,BYD and Polestar that include the use of NVIDIA's GeForce Now online gaming platform in vehicles. Kani also said that Mercedes-Benz is using NVIDIA's "digital twin" technology to help build more efficient production facilities.
The company's vice president of embedded and edge computing, Deepu Talla, announced an update to its "Isaac Sim" industrial robotics simulation platform, which Talla said is being used by NVIDIA partners to create digital twins of physical robots to accelerate robot training and deployment.
Fisher highlighted the latest developments in the company's PC and graphics business at the event, including a new line of notebooks, updated graphics cards, expanded adoption of the company's DLSS 3 graphics software by game developers, and faster graphics performance for high-end users with GeForce Now services.
NVIDIA also updated its Omniverse platform for creating metaverse content, including new generative AI capabilities. The stock was down 2.05 percent at $143.15 by the close of trading.
