SEMI: semiconductor equipment sales will be a record high for the third consecutive year, next year fell

        December 13, the International Semiconductor Industry Association (SEMI) in SEMICON Japan 2022 released the "2022 annual total semiconductor equipment forecast report", the report is expected to global semiconductor manufacturing equipment sales this year is expected to reach 108.5 billion U.S. dollars, 5.9% growth over last year, will be a record high for 3 consecutive years. Mainland China, Taiwan and South Korea are still the top 3 markets.
 
 
        SEMI expects that in 2023 the global semiconductor manufacturing equipment sales will fall below the $100 billion mark, slipping to $91.2 billion; and in the front and back of the field to push up, the semiconductor manufacturing equipment sales in 2024 is expected to rebound.
        The report shows that including wafer processing, fab facilities and mask/mask equipment, including the field of fab equipment is expected to grow 8.3% in 2022 to reach a new industry record of $94.8 billion, followed by a contraction of 16.8% to $78.8 billion in 2023, and a rebound of 17.2% to $92.4 billion in 2024.
        SEMI said that emerging applications in many markets will drive significant growth in the semiconductor industry, which will require further investment to expand production capacity; record fab construction will drive semiconductor manufacturing equipment sales to exceed the $100 billion barrier for the second consecutive year.
        SEMI recently showed in its latest quarterly "World Fab Forecast Report" that the global semiconductor industry is expected to build 84 large-scale chip manufacturing plants between 2021 and 2023, and invest more than $500 billion. The growth is expected to include 33 new factories to begin construction this year and 28 new factories expected to be added in 2023.
