According to media reports, a year after the acquisition, Texas Instruments in Leehaven, Utah, 12-inch fab LFAB, has been put into production, to start producing analog and embedded products.
With the production of this 12-inch fab in Utah, Texas Instruments has two 12-inch fabs in production this year, the last one is the RFAB2 plant in Richardson, Texas, began initial production in September.

The Texas Instruments LFAB facility, located in the heart of Utah's Silicon Slopes community, less than an hour's drive from Salt Lake City, is currently the only 12-inch fab in Utah.
As with other large fabs, Texas Instruments has made a significant investment in this Utah fab, with a total investment estimated at $3-4 billion, which will directly benefit the state of Utah and the local economy.
According to Texas Instruments' website, their Utah fab has more than 275,000 square feet of clean rooms and highly advanced facilities including a 7-mile long overhead transfer system that allows wafers to be transferred quickly throughout the facility.
Texas Instruments also disclosed on its official website that the new LFAB facility has the capability to support 65nm and 45nm technologies and can go beyond these process nodes as needed, and when fully operational will produce tens of millions of chips per day for use in renewable energy, electric vehicles, space telescopes and many other electronics applications.
