Toshiba Launched Compact Optical Relays

        Toshiba Electronics Components & Storage Devices, Inc. recently announced the launch of the TLP3476S, an optical relay in the S-VSON4T package that reduces on-time by half compared to Toshiba's current product, the TLP3475S. The product is available for volume shipment starting today.
        Compared to Toshiba's current product, the TLP3475S, the TLP3476S operates faster and is more compact than the TLP3475S. By increasing the light output of the infrared LED and optimizing the design of the photodetector element (photodiode array), the product enables efficient optical coupling and also improves operation speed, reducing the maximum on-time to 0.25ms, half the time of the TLP3475S. In addition, the thickness of the TLP3476S has been reduced by 20% compared to current products, thanks to the smaller size and slimmer profile of the S-VSON4T package (maximum thickness of 1.4mm). This helps reduce the size of devices that require multiple circuit boards.
        The TLP3476S is suitable for semiconductor test equipment circuits that have a high number of relays and require shorter switching times.
