Vishay Introduces Enhanced 0805 Package Anti-Surge Thick Film Resistors with Power Ratings up to 0.5 W

        March 29, 2023 -- Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) announced the introduction of the Vishay Draloric RCS0805 e3, an enhanced 0805 package surge resistant thick film resistor with a power rating of up to 0.5 W. 
 
 
        With the increased power rating, the RCS0805 e3 can now replace four standard 0805 package shunt resistors; two 1206 package shunt resistors; or one 1210 package resistor. As a result, designers can reduce component count and processing costs while saving board space in automotive, industrial, communications, and medical applications. In addition, the resistor pulse load performance and ESD surge characteristics are better than standard chip resistors for a variety of applications under high energy and repetitive surge pulses. 
        The RCS0805 e3 is AEC-Q200 certified with a resistance range of 1 Ω to 10 MΩ, jumper resistance of 0 Ω, tolerances of ± 0.5 %, ± 1 %, and ± 5 %, and TCRs of ± 100 ppm/K and ± 200 ppm/K. The resistors operate at 150 V and have an operating temperature of -55 °C to +155 °C. The devices are RoHS compliant, halogen-free, and suitable for use in Automatic bonder with IEC 61760-1 compliant wave, reflow or vapor phase soldering process. 
        The enhanced RCS0805 e3 resistor is available in samples with a 12-week lead time.
