On January 3, Aurora Labs, an automotive AI solutions provider, and Infineon Technologies, a semiconductor solutions provider, announced a partnership to bring new OTA update capabilities to the automotive software industry.Aurora Labs will demonstrate its artificial intelligence driven OTA update and downtime prediction technology on Infineon's AURIX TC3xx and TC4xx microcontrollers to improve efficiency by reducing data costs and shortening error modification times.

OTA updates have become a fundamental requirement for today's software-defined vehicles, in which the majority of vehicle functionality is implemented in software. As vehicles become more complex and under pressure to bring features to market more accurately, the number of vehicle updates per year will increase dramatically. As a result automakers need to reduce the cost of OTA updates and ensure that the update experience is as seamless as possible.
Infineon's sensors and microcontrollers ensure that our environmental interactions can be more connected and smarter, paving the way for future-proof mobile mobility," said Lars Ullrich, senior vice president of Infineon Technologies' Automotive business in the Americas. We are excited to partner with Aurora Labs, an innovative automotive artificial intelligence company focused on cost savings and driving software innovation for the user experience."
The partnership sees the two companies integrate Aurora Labs' AI-based Line-of-Code Intelligence into Infineon's AURIX TC3xx and TC4xx chipsets early in the software development lifecycle to create the industry's smallest update files, enabling OTA software updates 10 times faster and with greater security and Aurora Labs' technology delivers significant economic benefits to the automotive industry with a clear cost effective value proposition, saving up to 98% of device hardware and data transfer costs for software updates with zero downtime, even without dual flash memory sets. With Infineon's PPU architecture, Aurora Labs' code-line intelligence technology monitors deviations in device software behavior for pre-bug detection and downtime prediction to improve vehicle software quality, even while the vehicle is in motion.
Combining Infineon's commitment to functional safety with our automotive artificial intelligence creates new cost-effective solutions for the safety and security of software-defined vehicles," said Zohar Fox, CEO of Aurora Labs. With an SDK developed specifically for automotive software, developers can deliver state-of-the-art functional safety for the entire automotive architecture via an OTA approach."
