Global Semiconductor Market Expected to Decline by 4.1% in 2023

        Following strong growth of 26.2% in 2021, WSTS has revised its forecast downwards to single-digit growth for the global semiconductor market in 2022, totalling US$580 billion, an increase of 4.4 percentage points, according to  websites.
        The WSTS forecast has been revised downwards. Although some key categories are still expected to achieve double-digit year-on-year growth in 2022, with analogue technology up 20.8%, sensors up 16.3% and logic up 14.5%. Memory is expected to turn negative in the forecast, down 12.6 per cent year-on-year.
        The global semiconductor market is expected to decline by 4.1% to $557 billion by 2023, driven by the memory segment, due to the impact of consumer spending on rising inflation and weak end market demand. In the forecast, this category is expected to fall to US$112 billion by 2023, a 17% decline from the previous year. Some other major categories show single-digit growth, such as optoelectronics, sensors, discrete and analogue.
All regions are expected to be flat by 2023, with only Asia Pacific expected to decline by 7.5% year-on-year.
