LG Electronics will launch a 45-inch curved OLED monitor and a 27-inch OLED monitor in the US for gamers who want a lag-free or laggy HD gaming experience.
The two new models support a high refresh rate of 240Hz, a first in the global OLED monitor market. Unlike LCDs, both models have a GtG response time of 0.03ms based on the advantages of OLED's own light emitting properties, allowing for a smooth and lag-free representation of gaming graphics with rapid changes in the picture, GtG is one measure of responsiveness and measures the time it takes to change from light to dark grey.
Both new models support 150,000:1 contrast ratio and meet the Digital Cinema Institute's (DCI) 98.5% DCI-P3 standard colour gamut for rich and accurate colours.
The 45-inch LG UltraGear OLED curved display features WQHD (3440 x 1440) resolution and a 21:9 aspect ratio. It is the first LG monitor to have an 800R curved screen, allowing the entire screen to be seen at a glance, even when used at a desk at close viewing distance. It also allows for an at-a-glance view of the off-screen mini-map when playing role-playing games (RPGs) or real-time strategy games (RTS).
The product will be awarded the CES Innovation Award in the Computer Hardware and Components category before the start of CES 2023. LG Electronics will begin pre-sales of the new product on its US Online Brand Store (OBS) on 12th local time, with plans to launch in Canada and Korea early next year.
Seo Young-jae, executive director of LG Electronics' IT division, said, "We continue to deliver new customer experiences with LG UltraGear gaming displays that are different from regular OLED displays in a variety of sizes, shapes and performance."
