SmartSens Announces Industrial Machine Vision Face Array CMOS Image Sensor SC038HGS

       SmartSens, a leading provider of advanced CMOS image sensors, announced the launch of the SC038HGS, a new 0.3 MP high frame rate industrial face array CMOS image sensor that utilizes advanced SmartGS®-2 Plus technology and relies on SmartSens's superior analog This back-illuminated global shutter image sensor adopts the advanced SmartGS®-2 Plus technology and relies on Stellar's excellent analog circuit design, which combines the four major performance advantages of high light sensitivity, low noise, high frame rate and low power consumption, and empowers diversified application scenarios, such as industrial machine vision cameras, drones/sweepers obstacle avoidance systems, AR/VR 6DoF systems, and so on.
 
 
        Through highly accurate measurement and real-time image acquisition capabilities, global shutter sensors are widely used in many industrial machine vision application scenarios, such as inspection, identification and sorting, and their superior performance significantly improves image quality, especially in eliminating motion blur, with obvious advantages. As a result, global shutter sensors have become the preferred choice for industrial machine vision applications. The SC038HGS utilizes SmartSens's innovative SmartGS®-2 Plus technology, based on Global Shutter (GS) technology and Backside Illuminated Pixel Structure (BSI) design, which delivers better Quantum Efficiency (QE) and higher Full-Well-Contained Electronics (FWC), and utilizes High Density MIM (HD MIM) process, which significantly reduces random noise and improves image quality. The SC038HGS image sensor, with its three main features of high sensitivity, low noise, and low power consumption, dramatically improves the accuracy and clarity of visual information, enabling high-quality image capture in low-light environments, thus providing a more realistic and clearer virtual experience.
        With the advanced technology of SmartGS®-2 Plus, the peak quantum efficiency (peak QE) and FWC of SC038HGS are as high as 90% and 12.4ke-, respectively. Even in dark industrial environments, the high light sensitivity of SC038HGS can still help industrial machine vision cameras accurately detect and measure the target, and efficiently solve the automated assembly line vision information acquisition challenges. The SC038HGS The SC038HGS achieves better noise rejection and further improves imaging performance at high temperatures with SmartSens's innovative ultra-low noise peripheral readout circuit technology. Chip dark current (DC) is as low as 247e-/s at 80°C, resulting in clean, detailed, low-noise imaging while significantly optimizing imaging performance in high-temperature environments.
        The frame rate of an industrial camera determines the measurement efficiency of the equipment, so the demand for high frame rate image sensors is rising to make industrial production easier and more efficient. With the advanced technology of SmartGS®-2 Plus and high frame rate design, SC038HGS has excellent shutter efficiency (PLS increased to >30,000) and supports frame rate up to 240fps, which dramatically improves the acquisition speed and stability of the image sensor, and helps the image acquisition system to realize real-time monitoring and analysis in the industrial machine vision application, and guarantee the products of factory production line with high speed and high accuracy. The high speed and high precision guarantee the good rate, production capacity and fineness of the products on the production line of the factory.
