Vishay Introduces Upgraded TFBS4xx and TFDU4xx Series Infrared Transceiver Modules for Extended Link Distance and Improved ESD Reliability

Vishay has launched upgraded TFBS4xx and TFDU4xx series infrared transceiver modules to extend link distance and improve ESD resistance reliability. Device complies with IrDA ® Standard, using internally developed new IC and surface emitter chip technology, which can replace existing solutions in a plug and play manner.
 
 
March 13, 2024- Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE stock code: VSH) announced the launch of IrDA compatible products ® The upgraded versions of TFBS4xx and TFDU4xx series infrared (IR) transceiver modules for the application extend the link distance by 20% and improve the ESD resistance to 2 kV. The device supports a data rate of 115.2 kbit/s (SIR) with a link distance of 1 meter, suitable for energy meters and monitors, industrial automation control, wireless communication and data transmission of mobile phones and medical devices. To improve the battery life of portable devices, the module reduces power consumption and idle power supply current<70 μ A. Shutdown mode<1 μ A.
The Vishay Semiconductors TFBS4xxx and TFDU4xxx series devices include PIN photodiodes, infrared emitters (IREDs), and low-power control ICs in a single package. The upgraded infrared transceiver adopts Vishay's newly developed IC and surface emitter chip technology, aiming to ensure long-term supply of IRDC products to customers. As a plug and play alternative to existing devices, these modules do not require redesigning PCBs, which helps to save costs.
 
TFBS4xxx and TFDU4xxx series devices that comply with the latest IrDA physical layer standards are backward compatible, with top and side view surface mount packaging. Enhanced solutions can replace existing series of devices in a plug and play manner.
 
The device complies with RoHS and Vishay green standards, is halogen-free, has multiple packaging sizes, operates at voltages ranging from 2.4 V to 5.5 V, and operates at temperatures ranging from -25 ° C to+85 ° C.
