With a 56-core 112-threaded CPU, Intel wants to make a strong comeback

Unlike AMD, Intel has never launched such a high-performance platform product with a product line on top of the regular Core after the 10th generation Core i9-10980XE. In Intel's view, it does not launch a special "Lake-X" because the conventional Intel Core processor can already meet users' requirements for high-performance computer processors. For example, the latest 13th generation Core i9 has surpassed many "competing products" with its powerful performance, refreshing the performance of home desktop processors.

But what if the 24-core, 32-thread 13th generation Core i9-13900K can't meet the needs of users? It doesn't matter, this time Intel has decided to return to the field of high-performance "fever" processors.
Some time ago, some careful players found the logo of the so-called "Alder Lake-X" processor in the AIDA64 update document. According to other media reports, this Alder Lake-X processor is likely the latest successor to Intel's HEDT platform. Unlike the general Alder Lake or Raptor Lake processors, the Alder Lake-X that may be released in the future may be directly summarized by Intel as a workstation processor, which means that the new processor may be named after the Zhiqiang W series. According to the hardware configuration table of the Intel W5/W7/W9 processor exposed earlier, the future Zhiqiang W9 3495X may use a 56-core 112-thread design, a silent frequency of 1.9GHz cache of 105MB, and a TDP of 350W. At the same time, there is also news that the W9-3495X will use a 4die fusion design.
I think there must be friends who are familiar with Intel's Alder Lake architecture here and find the problem: Alder Lake's main selling point is that it adopts an asymmetric hybrid architecture, and uses P Core and E Core to balance processor performance and energy consumption under different task loads. But if the W9-3495X really adopts the 56C112T core solution, that means the W9-3495X is not equipped with any E-Core. And this situation of W9 is not an isolated case: if the configuration table circulating before is true, the next W series will "abandon" E Core and adopt the full P Core solution. Previously, only the i5-12400 in the 12th generation Core used the full P Core solution (6C12T), and even the i5-13400 that has not yet been released can join E Core as a performance supplement. The complete P Core solution of the W series inevitably gives people a feeling that "E Core is unreliable."
Although Intel's development in the PC market has been hindered, it is undeniable that it is still the leader in the current market, and its position cannot be shaken. The new 13th generation Core products launched some time ago have shown consumers strong performance and are more competitive than AMD's contemporaneous products.
